You’re not too emotional. You’re just alive.
The world wants you numb, but your feelings are not the enemy.
💌 Dear Woman,
Sometimes, it feels like your emotions are ruining everything.
One little thing doesn’t go as planned and suddenly, you’re crying, shutting down, spiraling. It’s not even always something big. You just feel everything too deeply, and it’s starting to wear you down.
Maybe you’ve always told yourself that your emotions were the one thing you’d never lose because most people walk through life numb, pretending. But lately? It’s been feeling more like a curse than a gift.
You’re tired of being the one who feels too much. Tired of getting overwhelmed. Tired of emotions showing up uninvited and messing with your peace. Tired of always thinking, “Why am I like this?”
But remember this:
Your emotions are not the enemy. But they don’t get to run your life.
The goal isn’t to feel less.
The goal is to stop letting your emotions control everything.
You are allowed to feel. Deeply. Softly. Fully. But you’re also allowed to protect your peace. To pause. To breathe before reacting. To say,
“Not right now.”
“Not like this.”
Because your emotions are not weakness. They are signals, not instructions. They are messages, not your identity.
And when it feels like they’re about to eat you alive, here’s what you do:
When Your Emotions Start to Take Over
1. Name it.
Say the truth out loud: “I’m spiraling.”
Don’t push it down, bring it into the light. That’s where you get your power back.
2. Ground yourself.
Press your feet into the floor. Touch your skin. Breathe.
Your body is real. Let it bring your mind back to earth.
3. Take space, not shame.
You don’t owe anyone a response while you’re healing.
Silence doesn’t mean weakness. It means self-respect.
4. Move the energy.
Don’t hold it in. Cry. Run. Write. Scream. Dance.
Let it move through you so it doesn’t get stuck inside you.
5. Talk to yourself like someone you love.
No more “I’m too much.”
Say: “I’m overwhelmed, not broken. I’m emotional, not weak.”
You don’t have to become cold to survive.
You don’t have to feel nothing to protect yourself.
You just have to stop letting your emotions control the entire story.
So this weekend, choose this:
Peace over panic.
Stillness over spiraling.
Power over reaction.
You are not too emotional. You are just alive in a world that forgot how to feel.
And learning to hold your emotions with grace?
That’s what makes you powerful.
With you always,
Felipa ❤️
